Editing the Devices Menu

A recent enhancement has been made to the Devices menu. This allows you to edit the menu options.

Some states have a lot of data that can be shown, and all this data cannot fit in the menu without having to scroll it. So now you can edit the menu to rearrange the order of the items and hide certain items from showing if you are not interested in them.

To go into edit mode, simply hit the edit button in the upper right corner of the menu.

This adds two new items to the menu:

  1. The show/hide check box, and
  2. Move gripper handles
The show/hide checkbox lets you change whether you want to see the item in the menu. Unchecking the checkbox will hide the item:

The gripper handles allow you to move items around. Just touch and hold the handle on the right and drag it to the position you want. Note: you cannot move items between sections (sections are separated by the thick black lines). For example, you cannot move "Speed overlay" into the same section as "Alerts".

When you are done editing the menu, you hit the "Done" button in the upper right which will save your changes and take you back to the normal menu.

What are the Traveler apps?

Travel data is everywhere. Every state has a map full of cameras, weather stations, and colored roads. The problem with all this data is that it is presented inconsistently, and none of it is easily viewed on the iPhone.

Enter Traveler. The Traveler app gathers all this data, normalizes it in a consistent format, and presents it in a usable fashion designed specifically for the iPhone.
